Mewo Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Mewo, we may collect the following categories of data:

Account information, such as your Google or Apple account email address, display name, profile photo where available, and Firebase user ID, when you sign in.
Financial and spending information that you enter, such as transaction amounts, categories, merchants, notes, salary, commitments, currency preference, and budget-related settings.
Receipt data, including receipt photos you upload, receipt numbers, extracted line items, merchant names, totals, and tax information.
Usage and subscription information, such as remaining AI requests, rewarded-ad usage, subscription status, premium expiry, and related account state.
Deletion-request information that you submit through the public delete-account page, such as email, user ID, and request notes.

2. How we use your information

To authenticate you and keep your Mewo account signed in.
To log, categorize, store, edit, display, and delete your spending records.
To scan and interpret uploaded receipt images.
To show dashboards, history, summaries, and account settings.
To manage free usage limits, rewarded-ad bonuses, and premium subscription state.
To process account-deletion requests and related support or compliance actions.

3. Services and providers we use

Mewo uses third-party infrastructure and platform services to operate the app.

Firebase Authentication for Google sign-in and Sign in with Apple.
Google Firestore for storing user data and account state.
Firebase / Google Cloud Storage for stored receipt images, where enabled.
Google Drive and Google Sheets when you choose Personal Cloud as your transaction data source. These files are stored in your own Google account.
Google Cloud Run for the backend API.
Google Gemini APIs for message parsing and receipt analysis.
Vercel for hosting the web frontend and public policy pages.
Google AdMob for rewarded ads where enabled.
Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe for subscription-related services on supported platforms.

4. Data sharing

Mewo does not sell your personal data. Data may be processed by the service providers listed above only as needed to operate authentication, storage, backend processing, AI features, hosting, subscriptions, and ad-related functionality.

5. Data security

Mewo uses secure connections for data transmitted between the app, backend, and supported cloud services. Access controls and platform security features are used where supported by the underlying providers.

6. Data retention

Account and app data are generally retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
Deletion-request records may be retained for administrative, security, and compliance tracking.
If you use in-app deletion, Mewo deletes associated app-side account data and attempts to delete the related Firebase Authentication user.
Personal Cloud files are owned and controlled by you in Google Drive. They remain in your Google account after deleting Mewo and can be removed from Google Drive.

7. Account deletion and your choices

If you can access the app, you can use the in-app Delete Account option in Settings. If you cannot access the app, you can submit a deletion request at /delete-account.

In-app deletion is intended to delete your account and associated app data directly.
The public delete-account page submits a request for manual review and processing.

8. Children’s privacy

Mewo is not intended for children. If you believe personal data from a child has been submitted, please request deletion using the available account-deletion methods.

9. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will reflect the latest revision.
